Shopee product title keywords: shown 56,665 times, clicked 67 times

A Shopee product title that opens with a name nobody types can be shown thousands of times and passed over. One best seller was shown 56,665 times in search and clicked 67 times. Here is how we rewrote the 32 titles of its store in the words buyers type, and how to check yours.

Write your Shopee product title in the words buyers type into the search bar, and put those words at the start. Search volume, the number of times a phrase is searched each month, tells you which words they are. A title that opens with a collection name, or any other word nobody searches for, can be shown again and again and still be passed over.

Shown 56,665 times, clicked 67 times: what the numbers mean

Two numbers show how a listing does in search: the times it was shown in the results, called impressions, and the times a buyer tapped it open, the clicks. Clicks divided by times shown is the click rate: the share of buyers who saw the listing and opened it.

Real figures from a client report, names removed. 56,665 divided by 67 is about 846.

Work it through. 67 divided by 56,665 is about 0.0012, a click rate of about 0.12%. The other way round, 56,665 divided by 67 is about 846: one click for every 846 times the listing was shown. Buyers saw it and scrolled past.

Why the start of a Shopee product title decides the click

The title of this best seller opened with a collection name, the name a brand gives a range of products. Buyers do not type a collection name. They type what the product is, and on a phone the start of a title is what they read in the results.

Type lunch box into the Shopee search bar and it suggests longer searches, such as lunch box leak proof and lunch box 3 tier: what shoppers type, the way they type it. A title that opens with a collection name, say Bento Set, holds none of those words. One opening with Lunch Box 3 Tier, Leak Proof holds them at the start.

Find your Shopee title keywords in search volume

A keyword is a word or phrase a buyer types into search. Search volume is how many times it is typed in a month, so it shows which words for your product buyers use. For this store, a search review on 7 July 2026 counted monthly searches on Shopee Singapore for the words its products could carry.

Real search volumes from a client report: the search review for one store, 7 July 2026. Both words went into the new titles.

The phrase water bottle is searched more than three times as often as lunch box: 72,588 divided by 21,075 is about 3.4. Volumes move, so they were counted again every month. To find yours, use the Shopee search bar suggestions and the keyword tool in Shopee Ads, which shows roughly how often a keyword is searched. Our earlier post on getting found in Shopee search explains both.

One rule for all 32 titles

We rewrote all 32 titles of the store to one rule, on every listing, not only the best sellers. All of them went live on 9 July.

  • The phrase shoppers type, in their words.
  • Brand first, with that phrase straight after it.
  • 60 characters or fewer, spaces included.
  • No keyword the product cannot honour.

Brand stands for your own brand name. Spaces count as characters.

Each line has a reason. The phrase is what search matches and what buyers look for, and brand first with the phrase straight after keeps both in the opening words. The store set its 60 character limit itself; Shopee allows longer titles. A keyword the product cannot honour, such as leak proof on a box that leaks, wins a click and loses the buyer on the product page.

Month one: clicks from search up 42.4%

June 2026 was the month before the new titles; July was the first month with them live.

Real figures from a client report, names removed: 1 to 30 June against 1 to 30 July. Most new visitors that month came from creator links, not search.

Work the first line through. 1,552 less 1,090 is 462 more clicks, and 462 divided by 1,090 is 0.424: up 42.4%. Products were shown 243,274 times in June and 371,171 in July, and the share of those clicked went from 5.10% to 6.91%. One listing sold SGD 331 after its new title against SGD 64 before, about five times as much.

Most new visitors in July came through creator links, not search, so the store total does not measure the titles. Clicks from search are the part the titles touch. The whole month is in the case study of the homeware brand.

Check your Shopee product titles this week, before you pay for ads

Search your main product in the Shopee app as a buyer would, and see which page your listing is on. Fix the title before you pay for ads, so the ads lead buyers to a title in their words. A keyword map puts the whole picture on one page, product by product. It holds four things.

  • The phrases buyers type for the product.
  • How often each phrase is searched a month, from the keyword tool of the marketplace.
  • The page your listing is on today for each phrase.
  • The title that carries the top phrases.

We build this map in the Full Store Diagnosis: a keyword map for 10 products, with new titles for 3. Start a monthly plan within 30 days and the fee comes off your first invoice. Our post on a store audit before running ads covers what else to check first. This week, start here.

  1. Search your main product in the Shopee app and note the page your listing is on.
  2. Note the longer searches the bar suggests, and their monthly searches in the keyword tool of Shopee Ads.
  3. Cross out any collection name, slogan or tag at the start of a title that buyers do not type.
  4. Rewrite every listing to one rule: the phrase in the opening words, 60 characters or fewer, nothing the product cannot honour.
  5. Note the traffic of each product in Business Insights in Seller Centre, and compare it a month later.
  6. For a wider view, take the store check: ten questions on where your store stands.

Questions sellers ask

How long should a Shopee product title be?

Long enough for the phrase buyers type and the details that decide the purchase, and no longer. Shopee allows longer titles than most products need; check the limit in the product name field in Seller Centre. This store kept every title to 60 characters or fewer, and 39 still left room for size, capacity and one feature.

Should the brand or the product come first in a Shopee title?

Either works if the phrase buyers type sits in the opening words. This store put its brand first, with the phrase straight after it. Our earlier post puts the product type first, which suits a brand that buyers do not yet search for by name. Choose one order and use it on every listing.

Will a better product title bring more sales?

A title decides whether a buyer who searches sees the words they typed and opens the listing. After the click, price, photos, reviews and the product page decide the rest. In this store, clicks from search rose 42.4% in month one, while most new visitors came from creator links. We say what we saw, not what a title will do elsewhere.
